EFFICIENT OPERATION OF
SOLAR THERMAL POWER PLANTS

The course on Solar Thermal Power Plant Operation is a course for professionals who work or want to devote
to the exploitation of a solar thermal plant with CCP technology. The course studies the optimization of the operation, looking on one hand the increase in production, and secondly, reducing energy consumption costs and consumables. Once having established the objectives of a plant operation, we study the appropriate  organization to address it. It deepens operating modes (on cold start-up, warm start-up and hot start-up) and hybrid operation modes with thermal oil auxiliary boiler and thermal storage system. Also, it studies the efficiencies of the solar field, the HTF and the water steam cycle. It includes a detailed analysis of energy
balance at different loads and a deep study of the operation of auxiliary systems. The course also examines  economic aspects of the operation, detailing costs, budgets and analysis of operating costs optimization, to finally go into the income and all those considerations that can increase production.
